Siamo lieti di informare che il progetto con l’8permille Valdese del 2022-23 per procurare strumenti e medicine salvavita per neonati agli Ospedali pubblici di Gaza è stato portato a termine.
Con esso abbiamo procurato un ventilatore per il trasporto di neonati a rischio consegnato al reperto di cura intensiva neonatale dell’ Ospedale pediatrico Nasser (1) e dosi di gamma globuline per i 3 reparti di cura intensiva neonatali, degli ospedali Shifa, Nasser e Taheer (2).
Quest’ultimo medicinale è salvavita per neonati e siamo riusciti con non poche difficolta a reperirlo perchè ce n’è scarsità globale e soprattutto a procurarlo per Gaza. Ne siamo orgogliosi!
La quantità procurata con il progetto copre circa la metà del fabbisogno annuo, cioè serve a salvare/proteggere la vita di circa 3000 neonati a rischio, la metà di quelli che nascono con problemi risolvibili con questo farmaco ogni anno
Intanto abbiamo anche fornito da ottobre, con i fondi delle donazioni libere, circa il 20%. del fabbisogno annuo di un altro medicinale molto importante a preservare la vita dei minori in dialisi renale presso il reparto di Nefrologia dell’Ospedale Pediatrico Specialistico Rantissi (3).

update about projects in support of Gaza health in 2023
We are pleased to inform that the project with the 8 per thousand Waldensian of 2022-23 to procure life-saving tools and medicines for newborns to the public hospitals of Gaza has been completed.
Through this project we procured a ventilator for transporting at-risk infants. This was delivered to the NICU of the Nasser Children’s Hospital (1). We delivered gamma globulin for the 3 neonatal intensive care units of Shifa, Nasser and Taheer hospitals (2).
This latter is a life-saving medication for newborns and we managed with many difficulties to find it because there is a global shortage and above all was difficult to procure it for Gaza. We are proud of this achievement!
The quantity procured with the project covers about half of the annual requirement, i.e. it serves to save/protect the lives of about 3,000 newborns at risk of death, half of those born with problems that can be solved with this drug each year.
Meanwhile with the funds of free donations, we have also supplied since October 2022 about 20% of the annual requirement of another very important medicine for preserving the life of minors on renal dialysis in the Nephrology department of the Specialized Pediatric Hospital Rantissi (3).
The shortage continues in the field of medical supplies in Gaza and we urge you to continue donating to this end.
