[25/10, 15:49] Maysoun Hussien- moh: A statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health on the health of Dr. Ashraf AlQudra on the nineteen day of the Israeli war on Gaza.

Wed October 25, 2023

The total death toll of the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since the October 7 is 6,546 citizens, including 2,704 children, 1,584 women, and 364 elderly people. In addition, 17,439 citizens were injured.

Israeli forces attacked 44 place in Gaza and killed 756 citizens in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has received 1,600 reports of missing people still under the rubble, including 900 children.

Ministry of Health-Gaza caders’ either attacked and killed or displaced which led to the inability of these caders to reach hospitals, and thus the hospitals are working with 30% of the medical staff.

Twelve hospitals and 32 health care centers are now out of service due to direct and indirect Israeli targeting and a lack of fuel due to the ongoing siege.

Direct targeting of the Health system led to damaging 57 health facilities, killing 73 health personnel, and destroying 25 ambulances.

Despite emergency procedures doubling their bed capacity, hospitals can no longer provide even basic clinical care.

The Ministry of Health considers the health care system in the Gaza Strip to be completely unusable, ineffective and collapsed.

Keeping the hospitals open does not mean they are able to provide health services to the flood of wounded. Hundreds of cases are being delayed for several days from important surgeries due to the enormous number of serious and complex cases.

The Ministry of Health considers the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip to be completely unusable, ineffective and collapsed.

Keeping the hospitals open does not mean they are able to provide health services to the flood of wounded. Hundreds of cases are being delayed for several days from important surgeries due to the enormous number of serious and complex cases.

There are hundreds of cases in hospital wards that cannot receive even minor medical intervention due to a lack of resources and lack of personnel.

More than 7 thousand sick and injured people need urgent intervention, but the health system is unable to provide medical services due to the lack of personnel and medical supplies.

Turning hospitals into shelter centers for thousands of citizens hinders the provision of safe medical services, and endangers the lives of the wounded who are suffering from severe burns.

People who fled to the hospitals asking for protection and safety are now living in an inappropriate environment in which there is not enough water or personal hygiene and epidemics and diseases are spreading rapidly among them.

We call on Israeli forces to allow the flow of medical and humanitarian assistance in accordance with international law to save the lives of innocent civilians, the majority of whom are women, children, and the elderly.

We call on Israeli forces to allow the immediate entry of fuel to allow hospitals to function and save thousands of wounded and sick civilians, the majority of whom are women, children, and the elderly.

We call on the Arab Republic of Egypt to open the Rafah crossing immediately to medical aid, and fuel and to refer the wounded and sick for treatment elsewhere.

We call on the international community to hold Israel, Egypt, and other parties accountable and exert maximum pressure to ensure international laws and norms are met immediately.

We call on all countries of the world to send specialized medical delegations to help treat those patients wounded by Israeli attacks
