Israel’s Ban on Travel Deprives Gaza’s Patients of Treatment

A recent report by the World Health Organisation WHO has revealed that Israel deprived thousand of Palestinian patients in Gaza of their right to travel for treatment.

The WHO report pointed out that 20,295 Palestinian patients in Gaza submitted applications for travel in 2022 to receive treatment in hospitals in Jerusalem, West Bank, and ‘Israel’.

However, Israeli occupation authorities rejected 33% of the applications, depriving nearly 6,700 patients of traveling for treatment either by direct rejection or delay.

In addition, the report explained that 29% of the applications were submitted for children, 19% for patients over 60, 35% for cancer patients, and 47% for female patients.
